Child Development Center P-601

Construction was completed on the De Luz Child Development Center (CDC) P-601 in 2011. The design-build project, located in Headquarters 12 Area, included a preschool building constructed around a central piazza , 4 playgrounds, and numerous educational amenities. The preschool employs a Reggio Emilia based curriculum. This approach considers the environment to be the “third teacher”. A top priority throughout the project design was to plan a stimulating learning environment in accordance with the Reggio Emilia philosophy.

Hale Engineering provided civil engineering and surveying services including topographic surveys and base mapping, grading plans, street, surface and utility improvement plans, demolition plans, horizontal control plans, erosion control plans, retaining wall profiles, terrain modeling and earthwork calculations, quantity estimates, hydrologic/hydraulic calculations, storm water retention design, and drainage report, project processing and coordination, specifications, LEED documentation, construction staking and layout, construction observation, Water Pollution Quality Technical Report (WQTR), Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and record drawings.
